The best tonkatsu and gyukatsu that I have ever tried 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
They are both super tender and full of flavor. Especially the limited edition of 2 cheese tonkatsu hot pot is a must try on your next visit!
The deep fried oyster goes super well with their home made tartar 😋
Please consider this restaurant on your next visit here 👌

By far the beat tonkatsu place i have ever been to…(even better than tonkatsu place in Hawaii Honolulu for those of you who know which place im referring to)
Made reservation for lunch. Lots of choices for katsu.
I ordered thick cut pork katsu and was very happy with the choice. Very soft and melting inside my mouth. Their rice was also on point. Perfectly cooked and very happy with the choice. Highball was perfect pairing for katsu for me.
They do make food fresh, so you will have to patiently wait. I want to say waiting was so worth it. Im planning to come back here when I visit Tokyo next time!
Highly recommend this place if u visit Tokyo! (All of my family really loved it!!)

The restaurant exuded a calm, minimalist atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and engaging in conversation.

The fillet katsu set was an absolute delight. The light, crisp breading was perfectly oil-free, and the pork was cooked to perfection – juicy and pink in the centre. It’s clear that the quality of the ingredients is high, as a mere sprinkle of sea salt brought out an incredible burst of flavour. Each set also includes plain white rice, a refreshing salad, miso soup, and pickles.

But the standout of the meal was the rice. Each portion was individually cooked in a donabe, resulting in a fluffy yet chewy texture that was simply divine.

This restaurant delivers an exceptional tonkatsu experience – refined, flavourful, and executed to perfection.

We came here for lunch to try the gyukatsu. Unlike Gyukatsu Motomura, there was no line — we were seated right away. The restaurant had a calm, minimalist atmosphere that made it easy to relax and chat.

We ordered the Miyazaki wagyu sirloin set. Honestly, the overall quality was at least twice as good as what we had at Gyukatsu Motomura: better food, calmer dining experience, convenient location, no queues.

The gyukatsu was excellent — light, crisp breading that wasn’t oily. The beef was perfectly cooked: juicy and pink in the center. You can tell the quality is high when just a sprinkle of sea salt brings out so much flavor. Each set also comes with plain white rice, salad, miso soup, and pickles.

Last but not least, the rice was an absolute standout — each portion was individually cooked in a donabe, providing a fluffy yet chewy texture.

I've docked one star for price, which was on the high side given the value prop. The gyukatsu sets start around ¥10,000 and go up from there, which makes it a bit hard to justify as a casual meal (even the beer was ¥1,300.) The tonkatsu sets were more reasonable at about ¥4,000.

If price isn’t a concern, this place delivers an exceptional gyukatsu experience — refined, flavorful, and perfectly executed.

After an exhausting morning exploring the main prefectures of Tokyo, we had a lunch that's definitely one for the books. I discovered this restaurant in Ginza that serves both Gyukatsu and Tonkatsu. The Gyukatsu was out of this world good and, although the Tonkatsu was not as good as the Gyukatsu, it was still amazing. To get to eat both at the same time fresh out from the deep fryer is a life changing experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life. WOW!!!

Forget everything you thought you knew about tonkatsu. Tucked away on a charming street in the heart of the luxurious Ginza shopping district—look closely, the sign is beautifully, classically Japanese!—is a refined restaurant that redefines the art of the perfect cutlet. This isn't your average katsu spot; it’s a high-end sanctuary devoted to premium ingredients.

Their pride lies in sourcing the absolute best: the renowned A5 Wagyu beef and exquisite pork from Japan's Gunma Prefecture. This commitment to quality isn't just a claim; it's a promise delivered on the plate.

My must-order? The show-stopping Truffle Fillet Katsu Set.

The moment it arrives, the aroma of deep-fried perfection and earthy truffle hits you—it’s intoxicating. The cutlet itself is a masterpiece: a thinly battered, golden shell that shatters with a satisfying crunch. Crucially, it's impeccably non-oily, proving a master chef was at the fryer.

But the real magic happens inside. That pork fillet is transformed into a cloud of succulent, unbelievably juicy meat. Seriously, it completely shattered my previous notions of what a lean pork fillet could be. The experience is elevated to pure luxury by the delicate, fragrant flakes of fresh truffle scattered over the top, making every bite an unforgettable, wholesome indulgence.

The set is completed by a side dish that deserves its own spotlight: the Miso Soup with Clams. Served steaming hot, this is no ordinary broth. The deep, complex umami of the miso is intensely infused with the fresh flavor of clams, tasting so profoundly of the sea that it transports you instantly to a quiet Japanese shore. It's the perfect, grounding counterpoint to the rich, decadent katsu.

Yes, the price point places this on the higher end, but I left feeling that the sheer impeccable quality of the ingredients and the flawless execution of every dish made it entirely value for money. This is more than a meal; it’s a memorable fine dining experience.

If you're in the Ginza area and looking for a culinary moment that you’ll be talking about for years, this refined katsu restaurant is an absolute, non-negotiable must-visit. Go for the truffle, stay for the sublime experience!

The pork fillet n loin were very good. Like the wako crust lot. Rice n salad n ground roasted sesame sauce also nice. Only missing part was a Japanese driver for whole team. Chef in top hat was too lax. Fortunately food makes up for it. For me tonkatsu wagyu beef is a waste so korobuta pork is just right. Prawn tonkatsu also nice.

Welcoming, helpful, and so delicious. Best meal we’ve had in Japan so far after days of eating through Tokyo! My husband said the fried wagyu was out of this world and they helped me find something gluten free to enjoy! Who is the best ginger pork I’ve ever had and all of the side dishes were also delicious! Arigatou gozaimasu!

I was checking what are the national dishes in Japan. I saw that “tonkatsu” is one of them. Which is a sort of pork schnitzel made with panko. I wanted to try it since it’s one of my favorites. It was much better than expected and I had not only pork but also the “Miyazaki Beef Chateaubriand” and it was exquisite (the number 1 in the menu).
The sauce that comes with the shrimps is the best sort tartare sauce I’ve ever eaten in my life.
It’s a nice experience to seat and see the frying pan and the cookers doing their job. I liked that a lot.
Service is also A1, kind and fast. And I have to say that they also explain how to eat it and with what we should mix the sauces.

Hands down the juiciest gyukatsu I’ve ever had. The wagyu was fried to perfection — golden and crisp on the outside, tender and buttery pink on the inside. Every bite literally melted in my mouth.

What makes it even more special is that it’s freshly made right in front of you. You can watch every step of the process — from the careful preparation to the final fry — which makes the experience so much more satisfying.

If you love wagyu or just want to try one of the best versions of gyukatsu, this spot is a must-visit. Worth every bite.

We visited Wagokoro Tonkatsu Anzu Hanare on a weekday around 5pm. I ordered the pork fillet, while my friend went for the thick cut. The tonkatsu was tender, juicy, and full of flavour. It may be slightly more expensive compared to other tonkatsu places, but the price includes a fresh salad, miso soup, side dishes, a cup of jasmine tea, and an overall excellent dining experience. Highly recommended if you are craving quality tonkatsu.

First off, the atmosphere is far more upscale than your average restaurant, and the visuals are a delight.
Of course, the food is delicious!
While it's a bit pricey, if you're looking for a truly special tonkatsu experience in Tokyo, this is a must-visit!

August 6, 2025 Lunch
This restaurant had been on my list of places to go, but I couldn't make it for a while, and finally I finally got around to it.
I arrived a little before opening time at 11:00, but there were already about 20 people in line, so I was nervous about whether I'd be able to get the [Apricot Set] (1,650 yen), which is limited to 20 servings.

The restaurant is bright and long, with a deep, narrow entrance that begins at the counter and continues to the back, where there are table seats.
In front of the counter near the entrance is an area for cooking single servings of rice.

First, you're served lukewarm water in teacups.
It's hot outside, so I wanted a sip of cold water first.

The Apricot Set comes with 20 servings of food already set out in large bowls, with most of the dishes (except for fried foods) placed in various places.
About 25 minutes after I sat down at the counter, my food arrived.
A staff member explained the dishes to me.

The standard rice dish is maitake mushroom rice, and apparently rice cooked with other ingredients is not plain rice but cooked with other ingredients.
Fried foods include pork fillet cutlet (already covered in sauce), truffle croquette, lotus, brown mushroom, and celery? tempura (no dipping sauce), thick omelet, shrimp spring rolls, stewed sweet potato, abalone, steamed chicken (the sauce on top is delicious and there's bitter melon hidden underneath), white eggplant, dried fish strips (tasty but very dried out), and simmered dishes include elaborately decorated pumpkin (quite firm) and winter melon? konjac, although the simmered dishes were too sour for my liking.
The chawanmushi contains ginkgo nuts and is smooth and flavorful.
Shijimi clam miso soup, pickled Chinese cabbage.
The fried foods were piping hot and crispy, the pork fillet cutlet was tender, and the croquette was delicious.

It was a very satisfying lunch, with a variety of elaborately prepared dishes that were tasty and reasonably priced.

Looking at the previously uploaded photos, it's a shame that the food hasn't changed much.

I'd like to continue eating here if they changed the menu weekly or monthly.

I'd definitely like to come back and eat again.

I visited again, after about a week.
This time I had the thick-cut loin cutlet.
I was surprised at how thick the meat was.
It was incredibly delicious.
Today I had the maitake mushroom rice.
It had a wonderful aroma, and the flavor of the maitake mushrooms had permeated the rice, making it incredibly tasty.
Today I was seated in front of the frying area, so I enjoyed watching the food being cooked and ate it all up.
Next time I'd like to order the thick-cut loin ginger pork and cheese rice, so I'd appreciate your help.
Today was also really delicious.
Thank you for the meal!

Delicious tonkatsu and wonderful service and experience. A calm oasis in the midst of busy Ginza. Sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the staff in the kitchen. I was able to walk in with no wait but many others came with reservations.

I absolutely love this place. The staff and chefs were tremendously friendly and good at their job. They are very comforting and speak very good English. The food especially the wagyu katsu was one of the tastiest and best food experiences I had in my live. And trust me... I had a lot off food :) this is a full on recommendation to anyone going to ginza area.

An amazing Katsu restaurant, and I have experienced many across Japan.

Food quality was outstanding. Prepared by engaged, skilled and passionate chefs. They were happy to share and explain special touches they make.

Service excellent. Discrete but always available.

Would add to “must visit” in Tokyo food journey.

We did a bit of research on places to eat around the Ginza area and came across this spot. We decided to try their tonkatsu. Overall, it was okay, but it wasn’t quite to my taste. The meat felt a bit too raw for a tonkatsu, which threw me off a little. The breading was crispy, but I was expecting the meat to be cooked through a bit more. If you're a fan of tonkatsu, it's worth trying, but personally, I was hoping for something a little more well-done.

I can’t recommend this place enough. We had our first lunch in Tokyo (after a 13hr flight). The food, the atmosphere and the service were impeccable. We asked for recommendations and they did not disappoint- the thick tonkatsu and beef filet sets were amazing, tender and crispy. The restaurant really pays attention to small details, from the fresh ground sesame for the tonkatsu sauce to the claypot rice and sides. On the pricier side, but very much worth it considering the quality and location. Would definitely visit again.

The restaurant's quality is noteworthy.
The culinary offerings are exceptional, with the Tonkatsu and Mushroom rice providing a particularly delightful experience. The Thick Loin tonkatsu set is highly recommended.
While the Beef Katsu's quality remains to be assessed, the pork option is a reliable choice.
For international guests, English-speaking staff are available. The service provided by a particularly professional and helpful team member was appreciated. While some minor language barriers may exist, the staff's dedication is evident.
Thank you for your patronage.

Expertly fried and beautifully plated, however the meat felt a little dry which made it fall short of my expectations.

Excellent hospitality though.

The rice that comes with each set can easily feed 2 people. The Wagyu upgrade on the rice is definitely not worth it though.
